24th March 2011, Horn Distribution S.A. - On March 11 at 2:46pm JST a massive 9.0-magnitude earthquake occurred near the northeastern coast of Japan, creating extremely destructive tsunami waves which hit Japan just minutes after the earthquake, and triggering evacuations and warnings across the Pacific Ocean. The earthquake and tsunami have caused extensive and severe damage in Northeastern Japan, leaving thousands of people confirmed dead, injured or missing, and millions more affected by lack of electricity, water and transportation. In addition, a nuclear threat exists until today.
 
As generally known, Horn Distribution is partnering with Japanese companies, in fact we are very proud to represent Japanese Brands in Poland, Switzerland and Hungary. In all these years of cooperation, we got to esteem Japanese mentality as well as their business culture. We do also feel beholden to all the Japanese friends we found during that time, and felt so much happy that none of the them got injured fortunately.
But at the same time, we feel deepest sympathy for the japanese population,  the families and children which lost their homes and the bereaved of all the casualties.
 
And so Horn Distribution decided to show solidarity and thus, we will contribute towards a fund which is supporting Japan in this terrible crisis. More precisely, Horn Distribution will donate 1 PLN for every japanese main unit of Alpine and Denon brands we sell in Poland and Hungary with effect from 11th of March  and til 14th April 2011. We have selected Polish Charity Action (Polska Akcja Humanitarna) to be the appropiate foundation for our donation.
